At 277 river miles long, more than a mile deep in some parts, and as much as 18 miles across, the Grand Canyon provides some of the most picturesque views of stunning rock carved steadily by the Colorado River.  During the day, the view from the North Rim of America's most beloved canyon is breathtaking.  At night, the sky is filled with stars not seen from more urban locations.

The North Rim Visitor Center offers nature walks, ranger programs, night programs, and children's activities.  For the more experienced backpacker, nearby Turweep (or Toroweap) provides a desolate, rugged outdoor adventure.

Camping and lodging are available at the North Rim mid-May through mid-October.  The North Rim Visitor Center is open mid-May to mid-October from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
