Directions: The entrance to Best Friends is about five miles north of Kanab on the east (right) side of Hwy 89. Between the 69 and 70 mile markers, a green highway sign indicates Kanab Canyon. Turn into Kanab Canyon and drive about 1.5 miles to the Welcome Center.

Best Friends Animal Society, based in Kanab, operates the largest sanctuary for homeless animals in the United States. On any given day, about 1,500 dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, and other animals make their home at Best Friends, located in beautiful Angel Canyon.
Tours of the canyon, which includes stops at the many animal areas of the sanctuary--with fun names like Dogtown and Horse Haven--as well as views of ancient petroglyphs, leave from the Best Friends Welcome Center, which is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. seven days a week, at specific times each day. It is advised that you call ahead to reserve a spot on the one and a half hour tour of Best Friends and Angel Canyon.
