The Symphony of the Canyons, formed in 1984, is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization with members from southern Utah and northern Arizona. Conducted by Kortney Stirland and made up of over 50 talented musicians (all amateurs, with the occasional professional as a special guest) the Symphony has several beautiful performances year-round, including an annual concert at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. [A list of upcoming concerts can be found at the Symphony of the Canyons website.] They rehearse 7:30-9:30 every Thursday night at the Kanab High School.
